The Peacoat, Plain and Right

The Lorna Button-Front Peacoat runs a button front under a wide notched collar, with welt pockets at the hip and a hem finishing at the top of the thigh. The shoulder is lightly structured. A peacoat has been the same garment for two centuries because the design was finished the first time.

Short Coat, Long Service

Thigh length keeps it out of the way when driving or cycling, which a longer coat never manages. The wide collar turns up and sits against the neck. Welt pockets keep the front line clean rather than adding bulk at the hip.

How to Wear It

Wear it over a knit with straight jeans and ankle boots, or over tailored trousers for work. Turn the collar up when the wind gets going. It sits well with a long scarf.
